Höcker and the IAEL at Amsterdam Dance Event

This week, Amsterdam will be buzzing with festivities again as the Amsterdam Dance Event returns for its 2022 edition. New this year is that ADE will feature the Legal Summit of the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers, which was previously held in Cannes. Of course, Höcker’s Media and Entertainment laywers will be present to welcome their international colleagues on their home turf.

The IAEL Legal Summit will be held on Thursday October 20th in Huis Vasari. Marijn Kingma will participate in the annual  Legal Update for Entertainment & Technology, which will start at 1 pm. She will give a short presentation on the Martin Garrix vs. Spinnin’ Records lawsuit and new EU legislation on unfair deals. Other topics include implementation of the EU Directive on Copyright; registration of the 007 theme as a sound mark; look-a-likes and image rights; AI made works and copyright; private copying in the cloud; plagiarism lawsuits involving Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa and Kanye West; litigation over the Rolling Stones logo; moral rights and posthumous releases; NFTs; the deal between French labels and performers on streaming and the launch of Warner’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Institute.

For more information about the Legal Summit, see the IAEL website or the ADE website. Are you visiting ADE? Don’t hesitate to drop by for a legal update!
